Professor Baoxin Hu communicated with our Lab

In the afternoon of October 8, 2013, Professor Baoxin Hu, invited to visit our lab from York University, gave all members of our lab an academic report entitled "Characterization of forest canopies using multi-source remote sensing data" including two parts: (1) Individual tree identification for forest management and wild-life habitat mapping (2) Early detection of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation using LiDAR and optical imagery. The academic report was presided by Professor Jinnian Wang.

Dr. Baoxin Hu is with Dept of Earth and Space Science and Engineering, Lassonde school of Engineering, York University.

Her research includes developing algorithms and methodologies to characterize vegetation canopies using advanced remote sensing technologies, individual tree crown delineation and species identification using the very high spatial resolution aerial imagery and high-density LiDAR data, and 3D characterization and modeling of surface objects.
